22. The page for rating packages

Hello,

I forgot to mention that the page for rating packages is already available at:

http://www.phpclasses.org/rate.html

Obviously, contributors may not rate their own packages. Only users that have downloaded a package may rate it.

Although I have not announced this to the majority of the users, you may already tell the users of your packages to rate it and that will also count for the user rating ranking and upcoming PHP classes programming contests.

21. New package rating system and PHP classes contests

Hello,

Finally I made time to implement a package rating system for the packages that all authors have contributed to the PHP classes site.

This will allow the users to find the best classes made available in the site. This is especially important because not only the users will not spend so much time evaluating many similar packages, but will also encourage authors to provide more and better classes in criteria that matter to most users.

20. New class daily digests and PHP Conferences

Hello,

Finally I made time provide a daily digest version of the new class alert messages. This means that from now on, new classes will be notified by e-mail with a single message that is sent at 00:00 server time (currently GMT+1).

19. Regional PHP sites exchange

Hello,

Since not a very long time ago I have been conducting an experiment with sites dedicated to the regional communities of developers that use PHP.

The idea is to make a link exchange with such sites targeting the users of the countries of such sites of countries that speak the same idiom that is used in the sites.

15. Sponsoring and Advertising in the PHP Classes site

Hello,

As it was announced last month, the PHP Classes site is displaying paid banners in order to generate some income to help keep the site open by letting me continue work on developing and maintaining the site at full time.

The site now displays banners also in the alerts and newsletter messages like this to increase the income. However, the additional income that is generated is still not enough to justify keep working on the site at full time.

14. 2002 developments in the PHP Classes site

2002 was a productive year in the PHP Classes site. Despite many enhancements have been developed, many more are still to be done despite I am dedicating full time to the site.

13. Paid services subscriptions and PHP-Con conference in USA

It has been a while since I released the survey about the interest on having additional valued services available to paid subscribers. The survey went very well as a significant number of users expressed immediate interest at least on some of the proposed services.
